As temperatures soar across the UAE, crossing the usual limits, staying safe is essential. To raise awareness, prevent seasonal hazards, and enhance security and safety, Abu Dhabi Police, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, has launched the 6th edition of the Safe Summer Campaign. This yearly campaign will run until August 31, 2025. “Your safety is our goal” is the theme of the campaign.

So, what’s this campaign about?

The primary focus of this campaign is to educate the public about preventing fires, heat-related illnesses, electrical overloads, unsafe storage practices, etc., that become common during hotter months and can cause irreparable damage to both you and your assets. Whether you are at home, at work, or in the open, being aware of these little things can make a big difference.

The following is a quick list everyone should keep a check on.

  • Be sure not to leave flammable objects under direct sunlight, and this includes sanitizers and perfumes.
  • Ensure all electrical appliances are properly maintained and tackle minor issues before they escalate.
  • Don’t leave devices on charge unattended or for longer periods until they heat up.
  • Don’t plug too many electronic gadgets into a single socket at a time.
  • Don’t leave children alone in parked vehicles, not even for a few minutes.
  • Inspect your vehicles’ tyres frequently to ensure they are free of damage.
  • Be careful while cooking or using grills.

The public is asked to follow the safety instructions, contact the emergency numbers when required, and be a part of the campaign in making Abu Dhabi a safer place. Because safety is not just a policy, but a shared responsibility.
