As we approach the holy month of Ramadan, to accommodate the spiritual and cultural practices that come with the special occasion, the UAE has made significant changes in its working hours. It is important for those in the UAE to stay informed about these changes to ensure a smooth and productive working throughout the month of Ramadan.

The UAE government generally reduces the working hours during Ramadan. For both public and private sector employees, these changes in working hours are applicable. Employees in the private sector can expect a reduction of 2 working hours while public sector employees get a reduction of 3.5 hours from Monday to Thursdays and 1.5 hours on Fridays.

Ramadan is a time for reflection, devotion, and spiritual connection. The adjusted working hours help employees to manage their workday while fasting. Moreover, the shortened working hours offer employees the opportunity to focus more on their well-being, prayers, and family time. These flexible working hour arrangements are expected to start on the 1st of March 2025.
